End of Semester and the Holidays
My semester officially ended on December 11th with my last (and most difficult) final of the year. That was one semester I was glad to be done with and while I was sure the semester was ending in complete and utter disaster I ended respectably with a B in one class and A's in the rest so while I was sad to see my 4.0 go down, I felt I performed well considering the difficulty of the classes and the obstacles I had to overcome during the semester. Baileigh had her last day of school and Jeremy had his last day of work today and are now both on a short vacation too and I am looking forward to some family time over the next week. My next semester starts January 11th and is shaping up to be a monster with 8 hours of lab a week plus another 8 hours of lecture! We had a sad week this past week as we dealt with the loss of one of our dogs. Bear passed away in his sleep and it was hard to say goodbye. Bear started as my dog before I had even met Jeremy then became our dog after we got married and then our family dog after Baileigh was born. He was a good dog and we will miss him.

Finals
I haven't been doing a great job of posting but there has been a lot going on lately. We are approaching the end of the semester and that means time for finals. On top of reviewing everything from this semester, one of my finals is going to be cumulative over 2 semesters which means I have to go back and study all the things I dumped from my brain between semesters! On top of that I had surgery on my right wrist last Monday so writing and typing have been difficult. I have no idea when I am going to do Christmas shopping as I have not even accomplished shopping for Baileigh's birthday which is next Sunday. Ugh, crazy time of year! Finals, and Christmas, and Birthdays, Oh My!

Can't we have an extra 8 hours a day?
Busy, Busy, Busy and only going to get worse. Friday was Baileigh's parent teacher conference and first ever report card. She did very well receiving perfect marks in her morning class and nearly perfect marks in her afternoon class. Both of her teachers were very complimentary and said she was a joy to have in class. I in the meantime have not been the best student, I have not been to classes since last Wednesday! I took Friday off to hang out with Baileigh since she did not have school and then she was sick today so I missed classes again. I have an exam on Friday that I am likely to fail after missing so many lectures. Baileigh's last soccer game was on Saturday so that will open up some time but I have also signed on to become an Arbonne consultant which I am excited about but will definitely take up that time that just opened up. I signed up for next semesters classes and will be taking 16 credit hours, 3 labs, and I will be there every day of the week! Crazy, but I am ready to be done and trying to get it knocked out I wrote out a tenative schedule and figured out that my last semester should be Spring 2012 so there is a very faint light at the end of the tunnel, of course it could just be an oncoming train..........

School Days and other misc
School is starting to go better than it started off for both myself and Baileigh. She is doing great, there is hardly a paper she brings home that she didn't get a 100% on and her cursive is looking really good. She has also had perfect behavior the past two weeks and seems to be making a lot of friends. I am really enjoying my Physics class and the lab too, I love playing with the toys in there. Chemistry is going better after a very rocky start so I hope to continue that and Statistics is a lot easier than I thought, in fact after calculus last semester, it is a breeze! Baileigh had her first soccer game and although her team lost I think it was more from a lack of coaching than a lack of talent, the poor girls had no idea what they were supposed to be doing, one of the girls on Baileighs team assisted in at least two of the goals the other team scored! Hopefully with some experience both they and their coach will figure things out! As far as Jeremy goes, work and everything is going good and he has now been a non-smoker for about 8 weeks so he is doing really well with that. That is about it for us, stay tuned for the next installment! :)

Busy Days
Things have been in a whirlwind since school started for both myself and Baileigh. I think all of us are starting to adjust but it is taking some work. Baileigh has also started soccer and they are practicing twice a week until games start and she is starting martial arts once a week as well. The martial arts class was offered through the school and actually helps me out as it is on the one day a week that I have to be at school late so that is nice. I think most of you already know Jeremys car died so we got a new one, it is a black Volvo S60 and I am enjoying it a lot. It is time now to pack lunches, start getting Baileigh ready for bed, and then study time for me.

Doing the right thing
So I just had a really cool experience. You will need some background first that is not easy to admit but essential to the story. A few months ago Jeremy and I took Baileigh to the circus, we had parked on the street because I am too cheap to pay for parking instead of walking a few hundred extra feet, it was dark and there were no street lights, we all go into the car to leave and as I backed up a little to pull out I felt a bump, I said oh no and thought I had hit the curb, I got out to look at my car and discovered it was even worse, I had hit another car!! I looked at the other car and while I did not see any damage, there was some paint transfer from my car onto their front bumper. I got into my car and got a piece of paper to write a note with my name and phone number in case they thought there was any damage but as I finished writing the note the people walked up to the car, it was a man, his wife, and their daughter. I got out and explained what happened, we looked at the cars and agreed their was no damage, I gave him the note anyways and said if they saw anything in the morning when it was light to give me a call. He and his wife seemed amazed that I had stuck around and she even said, but you could have just drove away, I said that was true but it wouldn't be the right thing to do. I never heard from them again until today, when I answered my phone and the man said who he was I thought for sure that he was calling months later to claim he saw some damage from the incident and just as I was thinking that I always seem to get screwed for doing the right thing he told me he was just calling to let me know that he had come across my note and felt compelled to call and again tell me how impressed he was with myself and my family and that it makes him feel good to know there are people like us out there who still do the right thing. I was blown away, it really made my afternoon to know he took time out of his life to call me and thank me just for doing the right thing.

A New Undertaking
As you all know I have always been a big reader, due to a disappointing series of books that I have read lately I have decided that I am going to start taking on a list of the classics. I figure they became classics and have stayed so for a reason and therefore have a better chance of being worth reading than the crap I have subjected myself to lately. Life is too short to continue reading whatever worthless string of books I happen upon just to pass the time. We shall see how it goes, I am going to read them in whatever order they become available at the library beginning with War and Peace. Wish me luck!

Oklahoma aka the 7th circle of hell - Part 1
Well we made it back in one piece, just barely. Oh, what a trip. It begins with a 14 hour car ride with 6 of us in the Explorer, amazingly enough there was not a single, she's touching me, or stop looking at me to be heard, there was a small debate over our direction of travel but all in all things started off fairly well. We arrive at the Tera Miranda Resort and Marina, sounds nice right? wrong! it was beyond description but I will try my best. First thing you see when you walk in is a double bed on the screened in porch and you think they expect somebody to sleep in here? you get to the main door and go to use the key they give you when you checked in only there is no need as the lock does not work anyway, apparantly the keys are just for show. So you get inside and the walls are army green and judging by the smell it is not paint but rather a thick layer of mildew, you look to the right and wonder if you haven't stepped into an antique mall as the kitchen appliances and cabinets date back to the late 50's or early 60's, the same impulse that makes you stare at a gruesome car wreck forces you to continue the tour where you find rusted out sinks in the bathroom, leaky air conditioners, a bath tub with a shower built for pygmys while the other shower promises the need for a tetanus shot. After the grand tour you lay down to get some sleep thinking maybe things will look better in the morning, only as you turn off the light and close your eyes you feel something on your face you swipe it off thinking it could be a hair but then it happens again and again and you notice your husband swiping at his face too so your turn the light on to find some species of bug crawling out of the light on the ceiling and dropping onto your bed and you realize you have entered the 7th circle of hell.

Busy Days
Well here I go with another attempt to get this blog started, we will see if I can do any better. Still waiting to get this house sold, I know it has only been 2 months but that seems like a long time and it is hard to be patient. We did find a house that we are interested in but it is a short sale so we are looking at a long process to get anywhere with that as well. Baileigh is enjoying the summer program with her school, she goes for a half day 3 days a week they do swim lessons every Tuesday and Thursday and a field trip every Wednesday so far they have gone to Chuck E Cheese and the North Pole, the rest of the time she hangs out with me. I am keeping myself busy between Baileigh, the house, and the gym. Jeremy and I have also been invited to a bi-weekly poker group that we went to for the first time last weekend. I had never played Texas Hold Em before but managed to come in third which was still in the money. Gotta love beginners luck! Thats about it for now, going on vacation next week and will try to post when I get home.
